Lauren is my go-to photographer. She has taken our portraits for the past 4 years and will continue to do so in the future! We have always done mini sessions in the past and been amazed at what she can make happen in such a short amount of time. This time around, we decided to do the 1-hour family experience- it is going to be hard to go back to a shorter session after this!
Prior to the session, Lauren interviewed us to matched our family to the perfect venue. She also sent wardrobe options, complete with links to order- so convenient. My favorite thing about this is that I am plus-size and have a difficult time with fit. Lauren shopped my favorite brand and found a dress that worked perfectly.
Having the full hour allowed for us to have a wardrobe change in the middle and just to feel comfortable. When we left the session, my whole family agreed we had a great time and that Lauren has a talent for making us all feel beautiful.

Sessions that feel unhurried and comfortable
Expert guidance in choosing images and artwork you’ll cherish
A focus on legacy, not trends
You get to be present with your people. I thoughtfully hold the details.
Black coffee and slow mornings are the only way to start a day, IMO.
I come from a long line of storytellers, adventurers, artists, and dreamers. Family and fun were always a part of my Louisiana childhood. Those memories drive what I do today with Lauren Widener Portraits here in Spring, TX.
I’m a mom to four daughters. So when I say I know how to handle chaos you can take that to the bank. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and my southern, cultured roots come out in almost everything I do. I love food, family, and fun anyway I can get it!
So what are you waiting for...come as you are and let me capture your family the way you want to remember them. I can't wait to meet you!
I don’t believe your images should live only on a screen. From curated print options to custom wall design, I guide the process so your photographs become timeless artwork you’ll enjoy in your home every day.
Both heirloom artwork and the corresponding digital images are always included, so your memories are preserved in ways that feel both tangible and lasting.
In my free guide for parents I give you 13 tested tips to get your family on board so it doesn't feel like you are fighting an uphill battle every year.
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: Family sessions book out 6–8 weeks in advance, especially
in fall. Senior sessions for spring grads fill up fast in
January. Check my availability and snag your date early.
Q: What do we wear?
A: I send every client a personalized wardrobe guide after booking,
plus we'll have a planning call to walk through it together.
I promise it'll look great!
Q: How much does a session cost?
A: Family Sessions start at $1450. I offer all-inclusive options so you walk away with more memories.
Q: How long does a session take?
A: Family sessions are typically 1–1.5 hours. Senior sessions
are 1–2 hours depending on the package.
Q: What happens after the session?
A: About 2–3 weeks after your session, we'll meet virtually
to view your gallery and design your wall art together.
Then your prints are ordered, produced, and delivered to
your door.
Q: Do you shoot indoors?
A: I specialize in outdoor natural light sessions at beautiful
private locations in North Houston but I also offer
in-home lifestyle sessions and occasional studio work upon request.
Q: What if my kids don't cooperate?
A: That's what I'm here for. In 12+ years of shooting families,
I've worked with every temperament. I am a trained elementary school teacher so I have lots of tricks up my sleeve.
Q: Can I include my pets or additional family members?
A: Absolutely, family sessions include up to 8 people.
Each additional person is $65, and pets are welcome at $40 each.
Some private locations require a refundable pet deposit,
which I'll let you know about in advance.
Q: What if I need to reschedule?
A: Life happens. You can request a reschedule through your
client portal or by email.
Q: Do you travel outside of Houston?
A: Yes — I love a destination session. Travel fees start
at $150 depending on location. Just ask when you inquire.
Q: Do you work with children or adults with special needs?
A: Absolutely, and with great care. I'm a former elementary
school teacher with family members with special needs myself.
I'm well-equipped and genuinely glad to serve families of all abilities.
Q: How do you deliver my digital images?
A: Through your private online gallery easy to view, download,
and share. A USB drive is also available for purchase if you prefer.
